日本茶の栽培は日本の豊かな自然と変化に富んだ四季の移り変わりが産地の個性となり、その土地の味を作り出します。ところが現在の日本茶のほとんどは効率の悪い厳しい自然環境を避け、管理しやすい平野部で自動化された大型機械を使い大量生産されています。まさに画一化された工業製品となってしまっています。

私たちは、できる限り人間の意図を入れず自然に正直な日本茶作りを目指しました。
産地は鹿児島霧島山麓の標高400ｍの山間高地です。周囲を山に囲まれた自然環境のおかげで、農薬や化学肥料を使わない有機栽培が可能になりました。冬は雪が積もり夏は40℃を越える厳しい自然風土が、昔ながらの強い味と香りを持った野生的な日本茶を作ります。

日本農林水産省の有機認証を2000年に取得しました。また、農薬基準の厳しいＥＵとアメリカの有機認証もクリアしております。
